Our Marine Surveyor
William Russell is a Transport Canada certified Marine Engineer with 25 years of experience specializing in passenger vessels including Cruise Ships and Ferries.
William is also an approved Transport Canada Instructor in Marine Emergency Duties, a Professor of Marine Engineering Technology and an accredited member of OACETT (CET).
Visual and physical inspections are done to determine the quality and safety of your vessel.

We survey fiberglass, aluminum, wood boats; including power, sail and small recreational craft.
Types of Marine Surveys
This type of inspection is strongly advised when purchasing a new or used vessel. Condition and overall operation of the vessel should be examined. This covers structural integrity, electrical systems, the propulsion system, the fuel system, other machinery, navigation equipment, miscellaneous onboard systems, cosmetic appearance, electronics, and overall maintenance as well as an out-of-water inspection and a sea trial.
Pre-Purchase Survey
Insurance Survey
This inspection is so that the insurance company can determine whether or not the vessel is an acceptable risk. They are interested in structural integrity and safety for its intended use. Most insurance companies require a survey on boats 25 years or older. They will also want to know the vessel’s fair market value.
Fees
Surveys are charged at $18 a foot. Prices subject to HST. We accept eTransfers.
Survey Delivery
All fees must be paid in full to receive the completed survey. We provide electronic copies of the survey. Printed reports are available at an additional cost.
